My intensive holiday lessons are designed to help students prepare for and complete their AMEB Theory of Music online exam. The school term is busy; the holidays offer time to learn, revise, and approach the exam with confidence.

Students can learn together online while using clear, colourful original memos that summarise key ideas from How to BLITZ Theory, AMEB Theory of Music, Master Your Theory, Essential Music Theory, Harmony & Voice Leading, and Harmony Practice in Tonal Music by Robert Gauldin. Each topic is explained step by step in a way that is clear for younger learners as well as advanced students. Set works are also explored clearly with the score itself — for example, Grade 6 Beethoven.

Lessons use original memos that summarise the key points from a range of theory books, alongside How to BLITZ Theory, AMEB Theory of Music, Master Your Theory, Essential Music Theory, Harmony & Voice Leading, and Harmony Practice in Tonal Music by Robert Gauldin.
Homework support
I offer a complimentary 15-minute homework review covering cadences, harmony, and melody writing. Feedback is shared with students and parents before the next lesson by WhatsApp group chat or email, so lesson time can focus on new material rather than marking.

Extensive practice material supports melody writing and harmonising in four-part harmony for Grades 4 to 6.
Set works
Original summary memos make Grade 4 Baroque suites and Grades 5 and 6 set works easier to understand and revise.
